Will Marsh has been a dedicated student of the sitar since 2006. He is a member of a new generation of sitarists who have found a way to seriously pursue their careers and studies in the classical music of India. While enrolled at the California Institute for the Arts, Will was able to daily immerse himself under the direct tutelage of master musician Ustad Aashish Khan (Ali Akbar Khan’s eldest son). He has also had the privilege of studying with master sitarist Roshan Jamal Bhartiya in Denver, Colorado. Will completed his MFA in North Indian music from Cal Arts in 2013 and travels to India annually for continued study and performance.
Will is also an exceptional guitarist and as such his sitar music is unique to his deep, creative spirit and draws influence from literally the entire world. His intuitive touch for sacred, innovative, melodic improvisation brings bliss and tranquility to listeners around the world.
Leonice Shinneman is recognized as the foremost American disciple of the legendary North Indian tabla and pakhawaj master Pandit Taranath Rao. Leonice also learned from Pandit Ravi Bellare, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri and Ustad Alla Rakha. He has performed tabla and pakhawaj solos in Germany, India, Mexico, U.S.A and currently has many students.
