Camara Kambon Quartet
In 1995, just 23 years old and not even a year out of college, jazz pianist Camara Kambon took home one of the most coveted awards in the entertainment world, an Emmy, for his score for the HBO film, “Sonny Liston: The Mysterious Life and Death of a Champion”

But that was just the beginning of an illustrious career that continues today – and will bring him to Ventura. Kambon will present a special night of music from his Emmy winning scores.

Soon after his Emmy nod, Kambon added two more Emmy nominations and three Grammy nominations to his accomplishments. He has shared the stage and/or recorded with performers ranging from Dizzy Gillespie to Dr. Dre and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

He has written songs for artists as varied as Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Sara Bareilles, Macy Gray and Perry Ferrell and has had scores and songs featured in the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show and, most recently, Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder.

Considered a prodigy, Kambon’s talent was noticed as early as 18 months old. This would soon develop into an interest in piano, composing his first original riffs at age 6. As a graduate from Peabody Preparatory School with honors in musicianship, classical and jazz piano performance, and composition, he went on to graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.
